HERBS – PULSATILLA

Arnica is another good remedy for the treatment of the veins, mainly in cases of stagnation of blood in veins and injuries to the soft tissue; it also relieves the symptoms of aching, heavy and tired legs and ankles. Moreover, arnica has an extraordinary effect in helping to restore the mother’s organs after childbirth. Varicose veins, which are often a feature of pregnancy, can be combatted by means of this plant. It is also an excellent and reliable remedy for high blood pressure, even after a stroke, heart trouble or any similar disturbance caused by restriction of the veins. Arnica has proved its worth in the treatment of ulcerated legs, but for this purpose the extract made from the root, not the flowers, is indicated. The flowers and the tincture obtained from them are only for external use.

Pulsatilla (pasqueflower or wind flower) is another remedy for circulatory disorders. It belongs to the family that includes the buttercup and must not be taken as a tea because of its strong, almost poisonous effect. For this reason it should be used only in homoeopathic potency. There are no restrictions on the three herbs described above, which are quite safe.
